  1. For me, this is one of the ways that my depression works. It becomes a great effort to keep in contact with people and leave the house. It takes all the inertia out of me. So everything slides, and my friends and contacts wait for a response that never happens, and at some point give up, figuring I’m not interested in talking to them. Then, after successfully isolating myself, the pangs of loneliness kick in. Of course, this is entirely my fault. But that’s depression logic for you.

  2. Nobody said depression was always logical, although mine, I rationalize, is quite logical. My tombstone would say, “Beloved father, deservedly humble.”
